On arrival, horrors of war is portrayed in the form of an ‘entrance pavilion’; gunfire-battered on the outside, but serene within. The visitor are led through a long well-orchestrated contemplative journey of sadness and remembrance. Two earth mounds depict two worlds; ‘ours’, and the ‘other’ after life.
The white ‘tomb’ stands atop the latter, and is venerated with flowers and candles before one enters on a pedestal. Inside, guests are carried down through a helical spiral gradually to the innards with pictures of fallen comrades on the mirror-wall. After stepping back up, an escape. route bordering on the landscape’s peripheries brings one back to reality.
