The house is designed for a young entrepreneur in a 21 perch property located at the end of Devika Gardens in Polhengoda. The land consists of mango and jam trees, is a beautiful property with abundant green. The design of the house is based on the concept of creating a series of gardens which connects the main spaces of the house visually through a vista. Consisting of vast internal spaces and airy courtayrds, sliding doors opening up on either side create a relaxing ambience inside the house. The service areas are placed in a perpendicular and parallel line in the left hand side of the house and links the service block at the back and the open car park. From the entrance courtyard is a timber slatted sliding door leading to an enclosed court yard space where the Statue of Ganesha stands underneath a Sapota tree in a shaded quietness. Walking in to the house through the entrance passage, the timber slatted grill creates a glimpse of the pool through glass windows. Main living and dining spaces are connected through a wide corridor where a linear wall separates the standing staircase which gently leads up to the upper level family lounge. Front block of the upper level consists of two bedrooms with attached bathrooms and the rear block consists of the master bed room, walking closet and the master bathroom with an open courtyard where one can enjoy an outdoor shower surrounded by greenery.
