The Avenue

The Avenue is a project where a single story house built in 1965 renovated to a Restaurant and a Pub. The attempt was to design a unique contemporary atmosphere while celebrating some of the existing features of the old house.

Residence at Kelaniya

Inspired by traditional architecture, this contemporary residence designed for a client who loves the feel of outdoors. Features a spacious green front garden which has a direct inside-out relationship with the interior, established by large openings that lead directly to the nature.

Residence at Pelawatta

Located at the Pelawatta suburb, this serene and minimalist residence has been designed to merge with the earthy and green fabric of the landscape. The strict budget constrains opened new windows to experiment with materials and finishes used in this project.

Sumudu Athukorala Graduated from University Moratuwa with a Bachelor of Science degree in year 2003 and Master of Science degree in Architecture in year 2005. He joined MICD Associates in year 2005 and trained as a project architect under the guidance of Architect Channa Daswatte and Architect Murad Ismail. He was the project architect for projects such as Cinnamon Bey in Beruwala, Water Garden in Sigriya, Sunrise by Jetwing in Passikudah, Extension of the new wing at Blue Water in Wadduwa and many other architectural projects during he was a part of the MICD Associates.
